You don’t need to choose a technical service before contacting me. We’ll talk about what’s going wrong, how you use your internet and what you want to improve.
When technical checks are needed, I use them to find the cause and recommend the simplest sensible solution. That may mean improving what you already have, adding Wi‑Fi coverage or installing a wired connection. The scope and price of any paid work are agreed first.
We keep the options simple
Sometimes improving your existing equipment is all that is needed. In other homes, better Wi‑Fi coverage or a professionally managed network makes more sense. We recommend the simplest solution that properly addresses the problem, taking your home, priorities and budget into account.
Improve what you have
Configuration, positioning or straightforward improvements where your existing equipment is suitable.
Better Wi‑Fi
Whole-home coverage using professionally selected Wi‑Fi equipment, with wired connections where practical.
Managed home network
For homes needing greater control, wired networking, multiple access points or separation between work, guest and smart-home devices.

We talk through the options
I’ll ask a few questions and explain how I can help. If useful, we can arrange a home visit to look at the setup and discuss your requirements.
You receive a clear price
Any paid investigation is agreed beforehand. For installation or improvement work, you receive a quotation explaining what’s included.
I complete and check the work
Once you agree, I carry out the work, test the relevant connections and explain the finished setup.
Reliable internet for the things that matter at home
Your network should fit the way your household works, plays and relaxes.
A solution that fits your property
Modern estates, older properties, extensions, solid walls and garden rooms can all affect connectivity differently. We focus on Waterlooville and the immediate surrounding area, so recommendations are based on your actual home rather than a one-size-fits-all setup.

A few common questions
What happens after I get in touch?
Daryl normally replies within one working day. We’ll talk through what you need and agree the next step. If useful, we can arrange a home visit to look at your setup and discuss the options. Sending an enquiry does not book a visit or commit you to paid work.
How much will it cost?
The initial conversation is free. Any paid investigation is agreed in advance. For installation or improvement work, you receive a quotation explaining the scope, equipment and price before you decide.
Couldn’t I just buy a mesh Wi‑Fi kit and install it myself?
For some homes, yes. If the problem is straightforward and you are comfortable setting up and troubleshooting your own network, a DIY mesh system may be all you need. Where we add value is in working out what is actually causing the problem before you spend money. Poor Wi‑Fi can be caused by coverage, access-point placement, interference, the broadband connection itself, cabling or the way the existing network is configured. We measure those things first, test possible improvements where practical, and recommend the simplest solution that properly addresses the problem. That might mean improving what you already have rather than replacing it. If new equipment or cabling is needed, we can then design, install, configure and test it properly — and explain it in plain English when we are finished.
Do I need to replace my broadband router?
Not necessarily. If your existing Internet Service Provider (ISP) router is stable, we may be able to keep it and improve coverage with better positioning, professional access points or cabling.
Do I need specialist networking equipment?
Not necessarily. Where suitable, we can retain your existing broadband router or other equipment and improve how it is positioned or configured. If your home needs better coverage, cabling or a more capable managed network, we will explain the options in plain English and recommend only what your requirements and the test results justify.
What happens during a home visit?
It depends on what we’ve agreed. An initial visit may be to look at your setup and discuss your requirements. A booked technical visit involves the agreed investigation or work. I’ll make the purpose and any cost clear beforehand.
Is wired Ethernet better than wireless mesh?
Where practical, Ethernet-backed access points are usually more stable and predictable because the Wi‑Fi access points do not have to rely on a wireless link back to the router. Mesh can still be a good option where cabling is impractical, and we will explain the trade-offs before recommending either approach.
Can you improve gaming performance?
We can remove avoidable local network problems such as weak Wi‑Fi, congestion and poor device placement. We cannot change the underlying quality of your broadband connection or the route to a game server.
Can you connect a garden office?
Yes. Depending on the property, the right solution may be Ethernet, fibre or a point-to-point wireless link. We will recommend the option that best balances reliability, practicality and cost for the route involved.

Professional technology and networks
One person from diagnosis to delivery
Independent, measured recommendations
Home internet should not be something you have to think about. It should simply be there when you need it, wherever you need it, without constant dropouts, dead spots, buffering or devices that seem to work one day and not the next.
That might mean reliable Wi‑Fi for working from home, a better connection for gaming and streaming, coverage in a garden office, or simply making sure everyone in the house can get online without frustration.
Every job starts with the same approach: understand how you use your internet, find out what is really causing the problem, explain it in plain English, and recommend the simplest sensible way to put it right.
The technology stays in the background. Your internet just works.
Prefer to try a quick check yourself?
Network Doctor guides you through a few room/area tests, compares the results and gives you a practical next step. It’s optional — you don’t need to run any tests before contacting me.
