How we use your information
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Waterlooville Home Networks respects your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who may process it on our behalf, how long we keep it and the rights you have over your information.
Google reviews
The website links to our Google listing and loads the live average rating and review count when the review section comes into view. Select “Show Google reviews here” to display the review cards. Review text and ratings are requested through our server; we do not send your enquiry details or visitor IP address to Google in that request. Reviewer images load directly from Google when reviews are displayed, so Google receives normal connection information such as your IP address and browser details. The review section does not add cookies or store reviews in your browser.
Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Following review links takes you to Google's service.

Information we collect
When you contact us or request troubleshooting, a survey or a quotation, we may collect:
- your name;
- email address and telephone number;
- postcode or service address;
- details you provide about your home, network, devices or connectivity problem;
- broadband suitability answers, troubleshooting or survey measurements, findings, recommendations and job references;
- communications between you and Waterlooville Home Networks;
- quotation, appointment, installation, invoice and payment records if you become a customer;
- job photographs or other images where they are needed to document work, or where you separately agree that we may use them for a case study or marketing.
Why we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, understand your requirements, arrange surveys and appointments, prepare quotations, provide and support home-networking services, keep appropriate business and tax records, and protect the security of our website, email and business systems.
Our lawful basis
Where you ask us to provide information, a quotation or a service, we normally process your information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you. We may also process limited information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and administering the business, provided those interests do not override your rights. Where the law requires us to retain records, we process them to comply with our legal obligations.
Website enquiries
The contact form on this website is processed using Netlify. When you submit the form, the details you enter are transmitted to and stored within Netlify's form-submission service and a notification is sent to our business email account.
Advisor, troubleshooting and survey records
When we use our private Broadband Suitability Advisor or Home Wi-Fi & Network Assessment tools, relevant customer details, answers, technical measurements, findings and recommendations may be saved within Netlify-hosted cloud storage. The tools also keep an automatic recovery copy in the browser used by Waterlooville Home Networks so an interrupted assessment can be resumed.
PDF reports and backup files downloaded from the tools become separate business records on the device or storage location where they are saved. Reports sent by email are also retained within the relevant email accounts. Deleting a cloud record does not automatically delete those separate copies.
Email sent to our business address may be routed using Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a Google Gmail account used for Waterlooville Home Networks. These providers therefore process information as part of delivering and storing business email.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We may use trusted service providers where necessary to operate the business, such as website hosting, form processing, DNS/email routing, email, accounting or payment services. We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
International processing
Some technology providers we use are international organisations and may process or store information outside the United Kingdom. Where an international transfer of personal information requires safeguards under UK data-protection law, we use providers that maintain appropriate transfer arrangements and contractual safeguards. You can contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to your information.
How long we keep information
We aim to keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed. As a general approach:
- enquiries that do not become customer work may normally be deleted after around 12 months;
- incomplete or abandoned tool records may normally be deleted after around 90 days;
- customer, installation and support records are normally kept for up to six years after the relevant work is completed where reasonably required for support, warranty administration or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
- quotations that do not lead to customer work may normally be deleted after around 12 months;
- financial and accounting records are kept for the periods required by UK tax and accounting law.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion or restriction of processing, object to certain processing, or request a portable copy of information.
To exercise a data-protection right, contact hello@waterloovillehomenetworks.co.uk.
Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing. You also have an absolute right to object to your personal information being used for direct marketing.
Marketing
Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up for marketing. If we introduce marketing emails in future, we will handle them separately and provide an appropriate way to opt out.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to help us understand page views, visits and website performance. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data. Its Web Analytics beacon does not use cookies or local storage to collect usage metrics and is not used by Waterlooville Home Networks for advertising or cross-site behavioural tracking.
You can object to our use of Cloudflare Web Analytics on this browser at any time using the control below. If you opt out, we store a small preference in this browser's local storage so the website can remember your choice. The preference contains no identifying information and is used only to prevent the analytics beacon loading.

This choice applies to this browser only. You can change it here at any time.
We do not intentionally use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. If we introduce other non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies in future, this notice and any required cookie controls will be updated before they are used.
Automated decision-making
We do not use personal information to make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use personal information for profiling.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we use your personal information, please contact us first at hello@waterloovillehomenetworks.co.uk so we can investigate.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
